Why Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies are so Popular and Where to Find Them

Our office is buzzing with inquiries regarding one of, if not, THE MOST, popular product on the market today. Made in capsule, tablet, softgel, powder and gummy form, apple cider vinegar (ACV) supplements are filling up our in-production list, and for good reason!

Infections

With its acetic acid, apple cider vinegar has traditionally been used to disinfect, treat nail fungus, lice, warts and (un)surprisingly, ear infections. ACV can work to kill pathogens, including bacteria. It is sometimes used as a food preservative, as research suggests ACV slows the growth of bacteria such as E. coli, keeping food fresher longer.

Weight Loss

Studies indicate that apple cider vinegar may help weight loss efforts. A randomized and controlled 2018 study concluded that supplementing with ACV can boost weight loss in people consuming a reduced calorie diet. Here’s how it went: subjects were divided into two groups. The first group consumed a reduced calorie diet with 30 ml of ACV each day, while the second group followed the reduced calorie diet alone. After 12 weeks, participants in the first group showed considerable reductions in hip circumference, body weight, appetite, and the amount of fat surrounding internal organs.

Blood Sugar and Blood Pressure

While apple cider vinegar may indirectly aid in lowering blood pressure by helping individuals lose weight, ACV has shown most of its promise with people who have type 2 diabetes. Characterized by high blood sugar levels because of insulin resistance or an inability to produce insulin, type 2 diabetes can cause complications such as diabetic neuropathy, kidney disease and macrovascular conditions—that is, if not properly addressed.

ACV supplementation can help lower blood sugar, but it can also help those who are pre-diabetic or those who simply want to be proactive about their health.

Here’s how:

  • Apple cider vinegar has been shown to reduce blood sugar by 34% after eating 50 grams of white bread
  • 2 tablespoons of ACV before bedtime can reduce fasting blood sugar in the morning by 4%
  • ACV improves insulin sensitivity during a high-carb meal by 19-34% and significantly lowers blood sugar and insulin responses

Cardio

Currently the world’s #1 cause of premature death, heart disease is something many of your customers should want to be aware of. There are multiple risk factors associated with the disease, and some can absolutely be lowered through ACV consumption. High blood pressure, high blood sugar and obesity can all contribute to a higher risk of heart disease and/or heart attacks, but they can all be improved to some degree through healthy habits and a daily apple cider supplement.
